VOLUNTEER
IN THE UK
Social care placements in England, Scotland,
Wales
Make a difference
Adults 18 to 35 have the opportunity to serve as international
volunteers in social care placements in England, Scotland
and Wales.
Learn about the life and culture of the United Kingdom.
Share your skills and talents with people and communities
in need. Gain new skills. Meet new people and make long-lasting
friendships.
Most placements are from 6 to 12 months. Your fee of $2995
will cover accommodation, food, weekly allowance for expenses,
travel from your UK port to your placement, one week break
after every four months of volunteering, individual training
and supervision at your project, and support from CSV staff.
You will be required to provide your own airfare to the UK,
insurance and visa costs.
Imagine standing in a totally dark room with no light switches.
You light a candle, and suddenly there is a little light,
and the darkness doesn’t seem quite so bad. Then, slowly,
people join you, until there are a hundred people with a hundred
candles. Now the room is bright and the darkness is gone!
Volunteering is like this. One single person, like one candle,
can make a difference. If a whole bunch of “singles”
gather together to work on the same problem, they can make
it better or even go away. Every person is important, and
every person can make a difference. Like you!
York Region Learning Connections represents CSV in Canada
and the United States. CSV is the largest volunteer organization
